Typical Saturday in our home

Today was a nice Saturday. I was trying to get some cleaning, and other stuff done around the house. I played with our new camera. I had Matthew and Timo do some tricks on the trampoline as I was trying to figure out some features on the camera. Afterwards Timo came take with me shopping for food and few other items and he was fun company and I enjoyed one on one time with him. Timo likes to talk to people and make them smile. It can be quite amusing times.

When we got back we had an hour before the missionaries came over for a dinner, so I cleaned up quick and made spaghetti and meatball dinner. Matthew had picked almost a cub of black raspberries. Bobby said that it would be nice if he could get paid for it. I had no problem with that, more motivation for him to pick them and he is learning how to earn money. I paid a little over a dollar. We have a ton of wild black raspberries I our yard and I love it how the kids can just go and eat wild berries in our backyard. That is how I grew up so it's nice to have that for our own children too. In the evening after the missionaries left we made a fire in our fire pit and had some smores. I love making fires and burning wood. We have a huge yard and a lot of branches that we need to get rid of so I was happy to make a giant fire for the smores :) Our township has a law that you can only burn stuff in your yard if you are cooking something, so for the next 2 hours our kids took turns eating smores :) I hope I can keep up this new trend of posting on our blog.

We have a little trees growing in our gutters, so Bobby climbed up and cleared the gutters today.

Time for smores!

Good night!

Trip to Chicago

Last Monday we headed to Chicago with Bobby's mom for a quick trip. We live 2 hours from Chicago, but this was the first time we made the trip to the city with our kids. Bobby's mom really wanted to see the Field Museum of Natural history so we headed there. Finding parking was a challange but we totally lucked out to only pay 5 dollars, it was a lot better than the other lot 0.2 miles away that was going to charge 40 dollars :) We have a family pass for Discovery World in Milwaukee and we were able to get in with our pass the the Field Museum and I love bargains :) There are 4 other places that we can use out discovery pass in Chicago for so we have to check them out in the future. The field museum was interesting, but our kids got somewhat bored. Luckily they had a hands on children section that saved the day.

Matthew's Baptism!

It's been forever. Occasionally I keep dreaming of being more diligent with our blog. We'll see how that goes. Last week Bobby's family was visiting from California for Matthew's baptism. I was so proud of him for getting baptized! He did so well that day and was happy about his day. Bobby was taking his mom and Lynn and Timo and Jared to Church and I was going 20 min earlier to set up refreshments and such. Matthew was waiting for me in the car and I found him praying in the car that everything would go well for his baptism. I was so happy that he wanted to be baptized and that he wanted this day to be special.
